We at Abbey Animal Hospital realize the importance of your pet.  At Abbey you are more than a client, you are a member of our family and deserve to be treated as such.  You will be greeted with a big smile and a warm hello.  We realize the importance of compassion, honesty, and humor in dealing with a multitude of situations.  We strive to keep our knowledge current and on the cutting edge so we can manage any situation with professionalism and competence.  Our goal is to provide you with high quality medicine using modern and up to date technology while maintaining old time values so you will trust us with the life of your other family member.

       

  James Orrell, DVM

Dr. James Orrell is a Baltimore native.  He is a graduate of Dulaney Senior High School and Western Maryland College.  He graduated from the University of Georgia, College of Veterinary Medicine, Cum Laude, in 1978.  Dr. Orrell returned to Baltimore in 1981 and established Abbey Animal Hospital.

Dr. Orrell lives in Kingsville, Maryland, with his wife, Jane, and two sons, Hunter & Dylan.  His special interest include soft tissue surgery and veterinary dentistry.  Dr. Orrell enjoys kayaking, bicycling, and fishing when his son's soccer schedules allow.  Dr. Orrell is a MG enthusiast.  After taking 4 years to restore a 1972 MGB, he is now working on a 1953 MGTD.

       
Teri Unger, DVM

Dr. Teri Unger was born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland.  She attended UMBC and Towson University where she obtained her bachelors and masters degrees respectively in biology.  She attended the Atlantic Veterinary College in Canada to receive her DVM.

Dr. Teri currently resides in Notthingham, Maryland, and is the proud owner of a Boxer named 'Striker'.  In her spare time she enjoys roller-blading, scuba diving, and traveling.  Her special interest include internal medicine, ultrasound, and cardiology.  She also enjoys working with marine mammals and spent time in California at the Marine Mammal Rehabilitation Center working mainly on rehabilitating elephant seals and sea lions.
